Artist Process
 

My artistic process combines introspection, experimentation, and collaboration, stemming from inspirations in my experiences and emotions and the world around me. I often start by journaling my thoughts, sketching out initial ideas, or immediately jumping onto the canvas, allowing my mind to flow freely without constraints. This helps me connect with my feelings and determine the themes I want to explore. I work with numerous mediums, but the ones I feel best express my ideas are painting, drawing, and photography. I enjoy experimenting with different techniques and styles, allowing the materials I use to guide me in unexpected directions. This stage is exciting, unpredictable, and invigorating as I embrace the surprises that arise during the creative process. As I work on a piece, I constantly reflect on my intentions and how they align with the evolving artwork. I often take breaks to step back and view my work from a distance, helping me assess the composition and emotional impact, sometimes even putting the work away for weeks. This reflective practice allows me to make adjustments that enhance the narrative I wish to convey. Collaboration also plays a significant role in my artistic journey. I value the input of my peers, as their perspectives can enrich my understanding and broaden my vision. For example, involving others in a piece, like my sycamore tree painting, has taught me the importance of vulnerability and connection. It highlights how shared experiences can shape our creative expressions. Ultimately, my artistic process is a blend of personal exploration, technical experimentation, and collaborative engagement. Each piece I create serves as a reflection of my growth and understanding, allowing me to communicate my emotions and experiences in a meaningful way.
